In 1968 for the first time I took part in an exhibition in Brussels (B), in 1969 I had my first bigger presentation in Tilburg (NL). The list below is a choice and starts with the first exhibition of my work on the literature of Bruno Schulz.

Theaterarbeit

Von 1986 bis 1993 habe ich im 'Instituut voor Theateronderzoek' in Amsterdam eigenes Theater entwickelt. Für das erste Stück Karneval - das weisse Gesicht wurden mir zwei Fasen gewährt. In der zweiten Fase haben wir das Stück in Hilvarenbeek, Utrecht, Dordrecht, Bochum und Amsterdam gebracht. 1993 habe ich es in der Kulturbrauerei in Berlin, parallel zu der Ausstellung meiner Zeichnungen von unterwegs nach der Wende, zum letzten Mal gespielt.
Das zweite Stück Luna konnten wir nur vorbereiten.

Mit Strassenkindern aus ihrem Leben Theater machen

Im August 2005 habe ich angefangen mit den Kindern und Jugendlichen der Strasse, die bei Generación in Lima unterkommen, aus ihrem Leben Theater zu machen: 'Nana de la calle' (Wiegenlied der Strasse). Das Stück ging am 1. September 2005 in Premiere. Während des zweiten 'Weltkongresses über die Rechte von Kindern und Jugendlichen', der vom 21. bis 25. November 2005 in Lima gehalten wurde, spielten wir es wieder.
2006 haben wir angefangen das Stück als Oper zu bringen, (Wiegenlied der Strasse oder die Strassenkinderoper). Pemiere war am 6. Oktober in der 'Universidad Nacional Major de San Marcos', die zweite war am 7. Oktober in der 'Universidad Católica', die dritte, am 8. Oktober im spanischen Kulturzentrum. 2008 haben wir eine Aufklärungskampagne für Schüler höhere Schulen in Lima gestartet. Jetzt denken wir an eine Akademie der Strasse, für Kinder und Jugendliche der Strasse.
Das Projekt wird von der Stiftung Bruno Schulz Institut unterstützt.
Von 2012 bis 2015 unterstützte uns Johannes van Rooij.

'Lullaby of the streets', theater with children and adolescents from the street in Lima, based on their lives

  • 2005
    In August 2005, I started doing theater with the children and adolescents from the street of the houses of Generación, Lima, theater based on their lives. We called it nana de la calle (lullaby of the streets). The first night of this 'lullaby' was held on September 1st, 2005. In November I returned for a performance of this play during the second world congress on childhood and adolescents' rights, held in Lima.
  • 2006
    In September 2006, we started transforming their play into an opera. There were three presentations.
  • 2007
    In September/October 2007, we went on with the opera and started to include those children and adolescents permanetly living on the streets.
  • 2008
    In May 2008, we started to prepare the kids and youngsters for an educational campaign at secondary schools in Lima.
    At the end of September 2008 I was back in Lima for a month to get the campaign initiated.
  • 2009
    In September 2009, I was back in Lima. We started to work with a second group of children and adolescents permanently living in the streets.
    I am now busy elaborating a structure for a street academy.
  • 2010
    In October I was back in Lima to work with the kids and adolescents for a month; and we talked about the intended street academy.
  • 2011
    In September I was back in Lima to go on working with the kids and adolescents for a month; and to keep on preparing the public with regard to the street academy we want to set up. Even though not in their curriculum, I started with workshops for students of pedagogics at the Universidad Mayor San Marcos.
  • 2012
    In September/October I was back in Lima. The kids presented 'nana de la calle' at the amphitheater down-town Lima.
  • 2013
    In April 1 was back in Lima to celebrate art with my street kids during three weeks, and to start to pass the direction of 'nana de la calle' to Jorge Luis, one of the group attending school.
    In September/October I spent another three weeks with the kids, working on 'nana de la calle' together with Pepe Toro, coaching Jorge Luis.
  • 2014
    In March/April I was back to go on with the street academy, celebrating art.
    In November I was back for the theater 'nana de la calle'.
  • 2015
    In April I was back going on with celebrating art and the theater, presenting drawings and parts of 'nana de la calle' at the Escuela Declara in Pachacamac.
  • 2016
    In 2016, due to the situation at home, I was not able to go to Lima to work with my street children.
    From August on, I could work, another year, as a volunteer, with children of refugees in the Netherlands.
